A Little Bit About Me...

I want to introduce myself to all of you. Hopefully this will give you a better insight into who I am and what I want to achieve through my business, Rejuv.Innate Massage Therapy.

My name is Sarah Summey. I was born and raised in Hendersonville, NC- a small mountain community south of Asheville. Growing up in the mountains gave me a deep respect for nature. I was constantly playing in forests, streams, and rivers, watching the animals, and feeling the sensations of the world around me. Many of my days were spent simply enjoying the great outdoors, and I believe that this innate connection with the natural world is what formed the basis for my mindset about health and wellness.

It is my opinion that if you strive to live as naturally as possible, you will inevitably achieve optimum health. After all, humans are part of the natural world, and though we have separated ourselves from it for centuries, we still depend on mother nature for good health. It's no surprise to me that trends such as Earthing have become so popular recently. We have deprived ourselves of our simplest and purest connections- to the Earth itself. Not only do we yearn to reestablish these connections, but we are learning through scientific discovery exactly how these connections benefit our health. We are taking age-old traditions and re-inventing their meaning, rediscovering their power, and giving them a newly designed place in modern healthcare.

As an alternative healthcare provider, I admire and support these trends to reconnect our health to nature. However, it is disheartening that for so much of humanity, we have discounted the healing benefits that the natural world can provide. We are all too often eager to try a pill or procedure that will "fix" us, an easy cure-all. In reality, there never has been such a thing. These pills and procedures leave lasting effects on the physiological and biochemical balances of our bodies. It takes work and self-discovery to find our own balance and strive to get there naturally. I see my clients doing this constantly, and I'm proud to be a part of their health journey.

I have spent my years as a massage therapist (and human being) seeking ancient wisdom and natural approaches to healing. I incorporate many modalities into my work, such as energy healing, detoxification, acupressure, and holistic/naturopathic remedies. I have dedicated my time to learning how to balance the body, mind, and spirit and keep it aligned in this ever-flowing parade that is life.

I live to help my clients achieve health as well as a real connection to themselves and the world around (and within) them. I believe that when we begin to understand our place in nature, our lives become balanced in health, happiness, and harmony.
